Hi friends,

I’m happy to be back in America after 2 full years of travel, 7 continents and 62 countries —What an adventure! I can’t thank you all enough for your unstinting support, comments and letters while I was living on the road.

As I settle back into the San Francisco Bay Area, I have big plans for 2013, including re-launching my consulting business, completing my book Adventure Philanthropist, writing a series of white papers on strategic philanthropy, and embarking on a speaking tour across the U.S. Never a dull moment!

But have no fear, I’ll still be writing the GoErinGo.com blog and so you’ll continue to receive the Weekly Update once a week on Friday mornings. The new format includes a new post, a favorite post (of the more than 500 I’ve written) and a Photo of the Week.

Looking forward to a fabulous year ahead! Cheers, Erin

Favorite: Blankets & Humble Pie

Last week, I traveled overland from Livingstone, Zambia to Lilongwe, Malawi. It took me 3 days and the entire time I was the only foreigner on the local bus with my fellow Malawi travelers.

I learned an important lesson from my new bus buddies:
