Hi friends,

Here’s your Go Erin Go Weekly Update – Enjoy!

Cheers, Erin

New:  Volunteering in Dangerous Places: Lira, Uganda

I’ve been tapped to write a 6-part series on “Volunteering in Dangerous Places” for the popular website MeetPlanGo.

To kick off the series, this month’s article focuses on my adventures volunteering in Lira, Uganda. (Think: Kony 2012, Lord's Revolutionary Army, child soldiers, mass rape.)

Read why I decided to go and how I ensured my own safety...

Favorite:  How to Survive a Scorpion Sting

The first night on Nicaragua's Ometempe Island, my travel buddy Clara and I had a bit of a scare. While showering, a scorpion dropped on Clara and she came running and screaming (naked) out of the bathroom.

I was fully committed to helping my friend survive this ordeal...

Photo of the Week:  Akha Grandmother, refugee camp on the Thailand-Burma border.
