Hi Adventure Philanthropists!

Well, I’ve landed in NYC and I’m happy to be back! It’s been nearly 3 years since my last visit and I’m super psyched to reconnect with old friends and see the city sights!

And while I'm here, I’m determined to shoe-horn in a few favorite outings amidst my meetings and speaking engagements. Top of the list are the Guggenheim Museum (love modern art!), the International Center for Photography, and the elevated park The High Line. Did I miss any? What are your favorite NYC haunts? Write me with suggestions (or even the latest hots spots!) at Erin@GoErinGo.com.

And now for our articles this week:

New:  10 Ways to Cultivate an Adventurous Spirit

A good friend of mine recently commented on my “adventurous spirit.” And so I started thinking about what are the characteristics of someone who’s adventurous? And how do you cultivate these attributes? Here’s what my pondering produced:

Favorite: Komodo Dragon Slayer Me *Video*

I’ve been to Indonesia several times before, but this time I went for one reason only: to see the famous Komodo dragons! I had heard about the Komodo dragons while living in Hong Kong in the early 1990s. It took me 20 years, plus a hairy 5-day boat ride, but I made it. Komodo here I come!

Photo of the Week:  Dune 45, Namibia

Our group woke while it was still dark to make it to the heart of the Namib Desert—known as Dune 45. We just barely made it in time for sunrise as we sprinted up over the brunt-red dunes. Once there, we sat in the breaking light, absorbing the magnificent landscape surrounding us. This is a picture of one of my travel buddies Lance on the top. The wind had started to pick up, swirling the sand around us.
