And now for our articles this week:

Guest Post: Your Personal NYC Tour Guide

I met my good friend Laurie last time I was in NYC. She was introduced to me by another good friend, also named Lori, who I met on my Antarctica expedition ship. Both Lori and Laurie are NYC tour guides, and during afternoon coffee, Laurie told me why she liked her job so much. Her stories were so infectious, that despite having lived in NYC for 5 years, I wanted to take her tour! Here’s why:

Favorite:  MESSAGE from Borneo + Video

Borneo, the 3rd largest island in the world, is a place unto itself – a magical spot full of amazing wildlife and nature and constant discovery. The island is home to 16 million people and comprises 3 countries: portions of Malaysia (26% of the island), the entire country of Brunei (1%) and part of Indonesia (73%). It also has one of the oldest rainforest in the world. Here are my 7 highlights of Borneo:

Photo of the Week:  Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Abu Dhabi

I visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque during a 2-day layover in Abu Dhabi. It was my first time in one of the United Arab Emirates and I was fascinated with this up-close look at the Arabic culture. When visiting the Mosque, I donned a traditional abaya, a black cloak that covered me from head to toe. It’s the 8th largest mosque in the world and can host 40,000 people during Friday prayers.
