Hi Adventure Philanthropists! We did it! After 31 days of fundraising, y’all donated $6,773, helping me exceed my Kickstarter goal by 12% - YAHOO! Thank you all so much for your support and kind words! As if exceeding the Kickstarter goal wasn’t enough – we’re celebrating another piece of fantastic news! Earlier this month, I learned I’ve been nominated for 2013 National Geographic Traveler of the Year award! Pinch me, ‘cause I can’t think of how much better it can get! And now for our articles this week: Guest Post: Kickstarter Honor Roll of Donors *Video* From my friend Laura, who I originally met in South Africa and is now living in Trinidad, to my friend Annie, who I met in Bolivia and now lives in Cambodia, to my Irish lassies Brid & Paula, who I met in Ethiopia – the global support is unbelievable! Here’s a video of my deepest thanks:
Ethiopia’s children are wonderful — Full of smiles and energy and laughter! During my 3 weeks in Ethiopia, I was lucky enough to spend time with several groups of children: at an orphanage, at a childcare center for children with HIV / AIDS, and during an afternoon outing on an island in the middle of Lake Tana. Take a peek at all the fun I had: Photo of the Week: Royal Clipper Ship While much of the time I was traveling rough, once a year I’d meet up with my mom Sam and we’d enjoy a bit of luxury travel together. One of these outings was a week-long sail on the largest clipper ship in the world along Italy’s beautiful Amalfi Coast. This is the majestic ship! Want more Go Erin Go? Visit:
So super psyched to be spending the summer in San Francisco with my friends! Having a great time being back in the States before I head out on the road again in 2014... Stay tuned to find out where I’m headed at the end of the year! See you on the road! Erin |
