Hi Adventure Philanthropists!

Hope y’all had a fabulous tail-end to the summer and you enjoyed your long Labor Day weekend!

I’m now situated in Florida and easing back into life in the sweltering heat and humidity. Luckily, I love the warm weather, particularly after an especially cool San Francisco summer, I mean winter, I mean summer(!)

I turned over this month’s Donate My Dollars poll to my nephews Neil and Jake. We went to DonorsChoose.org, an online charity that makes it easy to help students in need. I gave each of them $50 to donate and free reign. Here’re the classroom projects that they decided to support…

I recently received a postcard from my friend Moira, who lives in Scotland’s Orkney Islands, reminding me of how delightful the Orkney Island are! Photo of the Week: Hungry Hippos, Chobe National Park, Botswana

I snapped this pic on one of the last days of my multi-week southern African safari. We were having happy hour on a pontoon boat, floating through the waterways of Chobe National Park in Botswana. There was a plethora of wildlife everywhere, including these yawning beasts right in front of the boat.
