And now for the articles this week: New: My Birthday Book Every year for my birthday, I do something I’ve never done before. In years past, I’ve gone skydiving, learned to ride a horse, taken African dance classes. This year, I’m going to publish my book! To accomplish my goal, I’ve squirreled myself away with my family in Florida so that I can concentrate on meeting my fast-approaching deadline. At this moment, I’m tantalizingly close to being finished. Here’s where I am in the process…
Favorite: Happy Birthday Me! (2012) Every year, I try and spend my birthday at a beach. In 2011, I was surfing and scuba diving in Mozambique. This year, I was in Colombia’s Tayrona National Park. It was fabulous not only because I slept outside in a hammock looking at the stars, but also because I took time to reflect on the past year, as well as the year to come. Here’s just a taste of my best memories…
Photo of the Week: Beautiful Lake in Lapland, Finland (Arctic Circle) I met my Finnish friend Pirjo while trekking in the Himalayas and she invited me to Lapland to visit her last summer. So I went! (Who would turn down an invitation to Lapland?!) We spent about a week hiking around Finland’s national parks and soaking up the stunning scenery. So pretty I almost forgot how cold it was in August. (Almost!)
