Aloha Adventure Philanthropists, Greetings from the Hawaiian Islands! I’m off on my second stop of my book tour visiting Honolulu and enjoying the Aloha spirit for the next several weeks. Yay! Huffington Post: This week my Commonwealth Club program was highlighted in a Huffington Post article. Love the fact that I was mentioned in the same paragraph as the Buffetts! Featured Review: My good friend Rick was one of the first to review my book and give it 5 stars on Amazon. Here's a flattering excerpt from his review: "This is a special book, written by especially enlightened soul, Erin Michelson, whose spirit, heart, humanity and sense of adventure leads her on a journey to empower others and to change the world… She shares stories of hope in the midst of tragedy and resilience in the midst of adversity. Her leaps of faith and trust in others are inspiring and uplifting. Her kindness and her sensitivity shine through on every page.” How you can buy the book:
And now for the articles this week: New: Celebrating Giving Tuesday with Girls Education & Women’s Health Tuesday, December 3, 2013, was the second annual #GivingTuesday, a movement started last year to balance out the extreme shopping frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday with a day of donating to others. Here’s how I participated in this new holiday tradition this year… Favorite: 5 Ways We Almost Died Hiking an Active Volcano Two years ago, my family celebrated Christmas by visiting the Big Island of Hawaii. While there we decided to climb an active volcano, which just goes to show that genius doesn’t run in the family… Photo of the Week: Ürgüp, Cappadocia, Turkey One of my favorite countries in the world is Turkey and Cappadocia is one reason why. It’s strange, moon-like terrain is there to explore and I decided to do it via ATV = Too Fun! For a glimpse at my 25 best pictures of Turkey, just check out my GoErinGo Flickr page.
