Hi Adventure Philanthropists, I capped my 4-store REI Roadshow last week by helping lead a volunteer day with the Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy. There was a fantastic turnout of 63 volunteers who planted 250 shrubs helping restore native wildlife to a deep canyon overlooking the wide Pacific Ocean. What a way to start the weekend! Book Review > Here’s a note that Sam Hunter of Australia wrote me a few weeks ago – so sweet! "Erin Michelson, I'm only about half way through the book and I have got to say, thank you for the laughter, the tears of being touched by humanity, and the inspiration. I'm about to head off on my own journey. Thank you for re-igniting the flames of passion to follow my dreams, experience the world and make one heck of a difference while doing it." Buy the book > Still haven’t bought your copy of Adventure Philanthropist? Whatcha’ waiting for? Grab a print version on either Lulu.com or Amazon, or an eBook version for Kindle and iBook / Nook. And now for the articles this week: New: Australia’s Beautiful Beaches – Photo Essay One thing is certain: Australia is the home of beautiful beaches! Since I had trouble picking a favorite, I thought I’d put together a representative sample for you to decide. So tell me: which is the prettiest Australia beach? Favorite: aTypical Travel Day *Video* I had a big travel day last weekend, 3 flights + a red-eye. I was complaining until I remember another long travel day when I covered 1,438 miles (2,313 kilometers) in one stretch. I traveled from the remote San Blas islands on the Caribbean coast of Panama to the southern Peruvian city of Arequipa via boat, plane, bus and taxi. Here’s how I got around that day... Photo of the Week: Exquisite Orchids, Chiang Mai, Thailand This precious bloom was taken at an orchid garden in the northern Thai city of Chiang Mai. The garden also has a lovely butterfly garden tucked away among the rows and rows of colorful orchids. I love greeting the morning in the midst of so much beauty. Want more Go Erin Go?
I’m happy to be back in sunny friendly Florida with my family! As fabulous as traveling around the world is, it is always great to come back home. See you on the road, Erin |
