Hi Adventure Philanthropists,

With Thanksgiving behind us and Christmas and Hanukkah right around the corner, it’s time for #GivingTuesday, a global day dedicated to giving back. I participate each year and ask that you join me by making a donation to your favorite local or global charity on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2014.

I have a few ideas on which nonprofit organizations I’d like to support this year, but am certainly open to suggestions! So ping me with ideas for me to consider – I’d love to hear what causes are moving you to action!

New > InsideView Charity Challenge

I had the great pleasure of speaking at my friend Angeline’s company InsideView last week. As the first guest speaker in the company’s Women Who Lunch series, I talked with these tech women about how engaging in philanthropy could enrich their lives personally and professionally. As always, I donated 20% of my profits from books sales that day and the women of InsideView chose from 3 orgs to receive the gift. Find out who was the clear winner…

Favorite > How to Cope with Holidays Abroad

A few Easters back, I was off on my own and got a little homesick. I was OK until mom started relaying the brunch menu: mac & cheese, honey ham, steamed asparagus….oh man! So I came up with 3 coping mechanisms for surviving holidays when I’m far from home. Here’s my insider’s look of spending the holidays san family and friends…

Photo of the Week > Yia & Me, Sapa Vietnam

Here I am with one of my favorite guides of my big trip – Yia, from Sapa, the hill village region of northern Vietnam. I spent 3 days with Yia, trooping about the countryside, getting stuck in the mud, picking greens for dinner, eating in her home, and visiting her daughter’s school. A truly unforgettable experience!
