Happy to have left frigid NYC in favor of sunny San Francisco! Looking forward to being back on the West Coast for the next month or two, with upcoming travels taking me from the Bay Area to Los Angeles and onwards to Palm Springs. Yahoo!

Adventure Philanthropist: More Fear > My chosen nonprofit this month is Developments in Literacy (DIL), which educates and empowers underprivileged students, especially girls, across Pakistan.
Why is focusing on girls’ education so important? Because the national literacy rate for women in Pakistan stands at 38%. Boo Hiss!

One of the things I enjoyed most about my recent trip to Trinidad & Tobago is the multiculturalism, which is most evident in the local food. Tasty treats were literally around every corner. Here’s my favorite three foods from Trinidad & Tobago:
Favorite > Namibia’s Herero Women
While on my 3-week Southern Africa trek a few years back, I saw these women in traditional Victorian dress in the middle of the Namibian desert. This led me to do a little research on their tribe. I needed to find out why they dressed this way… Check ‘em out!

An iconic photo of the beautiful bridge that anchors San Francisco. Maybe I’m getting sentimental as I prepare to leave one of my favorite cities for another fav – NYC! Will be settling down into a semi-nomadic life with a rental in the Big Apple that will serve as the launch pad for my future adventures.
