Adrenaline-Inducing Activities *Videos*
I’m fresh off my Acacia Africa 19-day Desert Tracker safari and I had an amazing time!
A big part of the fun was all the activities we got to do – from helicopter rides over the Okavango Delta to sandboarding Namibian desert dunes to sunrise safaris in Botswana’s famed Etosha National Park!
Here’re just three of the crowd favorites while you’re visiting Victoria Falls, in Livingstone, Zambia:
Walking with the Lions
I was super psyched to participate in the Lion Encounter, where a group of us got to walk with lion cubs in the early morning, petting them and watching them play.
Later that afternoon I volunteered with Lion Encounter’s sister nonprofit, ALERT, to help remove snares used by poachers and help compile research on a pride of 6 lions recently released in their reserve.
All fun stuff (and I learned a lot too!).

Microlight over Victoria Falls
Here my tent mate Lucy, from London, gushes about her first-ever microflight! Watch and you’ll want to fly over the falls too!

Zambezi River Rafting
Most of our Acacia Africa gang took to the water to raft the Zambezi’s Class V rapids. And while quite a few of them thought it might be their last day on earth, my buddy Chris from Philadelphia is pretty nonplussed about the whole adventure… Nonetheless, he gives the hair-raising rafting trip 10 out of 10!

Extra Shot of Adrenaline!
Microflying, whitewater rafting, and getting up close and personal with lions are just a few bits of fun that can round out your safari experience. Participating in these 1-day adrenaline-pumping activities will increase your enjoyment and understanding of Africa’s natural surroundings – and give leave you with some pretty rad memories (and photos!)
Have a taste for adventure? Take the plunge and enhance your outdoor African experience!
