Donate My Dollars: Playgrounds for Peace – Giving U™
I’m hot off my trek through the Middle East – and I had fantastic experiences in Lebanon, Israel & Egypt — 3 countries that refer to each other as “cousins” or “neighbors” or “enemies” – depending on whom you talk to.
To support the process of reconciliation in this region, this month’s Donate my Dollars poll will support the building of playgrounds in the West Bank.
If we get 250 votes by August 15, the GoErinGo! Fund will double the amount of sand we buy for the As Samoa Kindergarten!
Vote “YES” today and do your part in bringing peace to the Middle East – through playgrounds!

Playgrounds in the West Bank
After their little girl Abir was killed, the Aramin family chose to turn their tragedy into care, creativity, and teamwork in memory of their 10-year-old daughter.
Israeli and Palestinian Combatants for Peace decided to build playgrounds in Abir’s memory. Abir’s Garden Project transformed her school in East Jerusalem by bringing former combatants from both sides together to build playgrounds for children and families.
Sand for As Samoa Kindergarten
One kindergarten in As Samoa has no playground. Now Combatants for Peace is ready to build in As Samoa village, near Hebron, with the help of their school community.
The GoErinGo! Fund will donate $250 and buy 10 cubic meters of sand for the As Samoa kindergarten. If we get 250 more votes, we’ll buy an additional 10 cubic meters of sand (a $500 donation) to provide 20% of the playground’s sand!
The Rebuilding Alliance
Rebuilding Alliance is a coalition of people and groups around the world dedicated to helping war-torn neighborhoods rebuild and become safe. They partner with Israeli and Palestinian NGOs to help Palestinian communities rebuild.
The Alliance believes a child’s life can be changed for good by rebuilding her/his home and neighborhood. In their view, construction is the best response to destruction, and rebuilding projects ease trauma, build trust, and strengthen peacemakers.
