Go-to-Cairo!

Me and the boys making shwarma

Me and the boys making shwarma

December 16, 2010 – Cairo, Egypt

Cairo is one crazy city – I like it! Some serious hustle and bustle. Just crossing the road is an adventure sport. To give you an idea of the scale of chaos we’re talking about:

  • 20 million people live in Cairo
  • 5 million more commute into the city each day
  • 2.5 million cars are on the road
  • Cairo’s roads were built for 500,000 cars

Here I am with my street vendor buddies. They even let me get behind the cart and pretend to serve up some grub!

(OK, the truth: the real reason I like Cairo is because everyone keeps calling me Shakira).
