January 5, 2010 – Fez, Morocco
I spent the day in the ultimate marketplace: Fez medina – truly stupendous, truly mind-boggling. Fortunately, my shopping skills were up to the challenge:
- • Buttery leather slippers and purses – check
- • Beautiful hand-painted ceramic dishes – check
- • Hand-woven Berber carpet – gulp
I even met this nice young man selling hot loaves of bread. Who am I to resist?
p.s. In the morning, I take off for the Sahara desert, partially via camel train. It might be 4-5 days before I can post again (if ever).
