Go-To-Lisbon!

Go-to-Lisbon!

Go-to-Lisbon!

December 17, 2009 – Lisbon, Portugal

My first day strolling the streets of Lisbon and it took a whole 3 hours to find a sidewalk food vendor.

But then I found her! Selling roasted chestnuts under a green umbrella on one of Lisbon’s central squares: the Praca Dom Pedro IV.

Unfortunately, my new-found friend turned out to be a bit cranky. Maybe because I accused her of ripping me off. (Maybe I was a bit cranky?) I handed her €2 and I expected some change back, but she just cackled at me. Ah man!

I then saw another vendor selling chestnuts for the same price. Oops. But really — 12 chestnuts for $3 — C’mon! Oh boy…Cheap and cranky. Really not a good combo.

I’m blaming in on my antibiotic horse pills.
