InsideView Charity Choice

On Nov. 18 I had the pleasure of chatting with the women of InsideView during their quarterly Women Who Lunch series. As with all speaking events, I encourage the host to choose a nonprofit organization to receive 20% of my author profits from any books sold at the event.

InsideView elected to let the lunch participants decide from three organizations. The charity with the most votes by end of business Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014 will receive the Adventure Philanthropist donation.

Thanks for casting you vote for your favorite nonprofit org!

Here’s more background on each of the nonprofits:

Women Who LunchWomen’s Education Project – Preparing women of limited means—but unlimited potential—for college and career success, to improve their lives, families, and communities. WEP’s programs help women throughout India become knowledgeable, confident, self-reliant and responsible leaders. WEP is an interntional option that will indirectly support InsideView’s presence in India.

Family House – Serving as a home away from home for families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. Family House provides physical comfort and emotional support, free from financial concerns. With two locations in San Francisco, Family House is affiliated with UCSF hospitals, and provides accommodation for more than 2,000 families each year.

SF-Marin Food Bank – Aims to end hunger among residents of San Francisco and Marin counties. Each year more than 47 million pounds of food are delivered throughout San Francisco and Marin, more than half of it fresh produce direct from the farm, providing 225,000 city residents with nourishing meals. With the help of 25,000 volunteers each year, the Food Bank is vital lifeline for local people in need of food assistance.
