My much beloved new fur hat

December 27, 2009 – Granada & the Costa del Sol

It always surprises me how many hits the Go Erin Shop page gets, obviously there’s some real shopaholics out there who are living vicariously (as a former shopaholic, I can relate…).

So Mom and I decided we’d have a fashion show of all our purchases. OK, actually, we were going on our 15th straight day of rain and were going a little stir crazy. The “fashion show” was a way to amuse ourselves.

You can tell it’s been near-freezing cold here (like snow in Toledo!) since I bought 2 coats, 1 sweater, 2 hats and miscellaneous jewelry. Surprisingly, Mom’s only in for a few pieces of jewelry, but it wasn’t from want of trying – believe you me. I’m only 5’2” and I wear a “large” here. With another 6 inches on me, Mom wears an XXL (but only a size 8 in U.S. sizes.) I can see how buying a XXL would take part of the fun out of shopping.

Here’s some of our haul:

I’m happy to report as we left Granada yesterday and headed to the Costa del Sol, that’s exactly what we found: “sol”!!! We spent the day today walking the Marbella boardwalk, café hopping and basking in the sun. The sun! Perhaps the only thing better than a serious shopping score.
