Ethiopian Tikul Huts – LivingMini®
Tikul huts are the traditional houses found in northern Ethiopian. Still in use today, the huts are usually 2 stories, made of stone with thatched roofing. The bottom floor is used for storage and cooking, and the top floor for dining and sleeping.
After the initial gathering of the stones, the huts can be built within about 10 days. While driving around the countryside I saw whole villages of tikul huts.
Check ‘em out!
